Mochachos is one of South Africa’s most popular casual fast-food restaurant chains. The brand was originally launched in 1994 as Mochachos Steak Houses by founders Ania Economou and Christos Economou in Pretoria. It became one of the first restaurant brands in South Africa to introduce Mexican-style flame-grilled chicken and spicy Mexican-inspired meals.
Known for its slogan “Flame Grilled Mexican Chicken,” Mochachos has grown into a large restaurant franchise with branches across South Africa, as well as locations in Botswana and Australia. The brand is famous for its large portion sizes, flavorful dry-rub spices, and flame-grilled cooking style that offers both tasty and healthier meal options.
Mochachos is also widely recognized for operating Halaal-certified restaurants across most of its locations.
